AI Housing and Healthcare Unicorn EliseAI Secures $350 Million in New Funding
Artificial intelligence enterprise EliseAI has successfully completed a massive $350 million funding round, pushing its valuation to $4 billion. According to the company, this latest financial milestone nearly doubles its valuation from just over a year prior. The investment was co-led by returning backers Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and Bessemer Venture Partners, alongside new participant Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. Additional support came from existing stakeholders Sapphire Ventures and Navitas Capital. CEO and co-founder Minna Song noted that the entire transaction consisted of primary capital, with major existing investors eager to expand their stakes following a $250 million Series E round that valued the business at $2.2 billion roughly 13 months ago.
Rather than pointing to a single catalyst, Song attributed the rapid valuation growth to consistent operational execution, expanding market penetration, and enhanced product delivery across the firm’s primary target sectors: housing and healthcare administration. The newly acquired capital will be deployed to accelerate product development and scale engineering, deployment, and sales teams throughout North America. In addition to its 109,000-square-foot headquarters in Manhattan, EliseAI is establishing a second engineering hub in San Francisco while continuing remote and regional hiring across several major metropolitan areas.
Targeting Administrative Friction in Regulated Sectors
Unlike many Silicon Valley startups that focus on horizontal software tools for white-collar office workers, EliseAI deliberately built its platform for heavily regulated, phone-based, and historically change-resistant industries. Property management and healthcare administration have long struggled with thin operating margins and severe operational bottlenecks. Song explained that before writing any code, she embedded herself within the real estate industry to identify core operational friction points. The resulting software platform automates a wide array of back-office workflows, including leasing operations, resident services, maintenance requests, and lease renewals.
- EliseAI technology currently powers approximately one in six apartment units across the United States.
- More than 30 million American residents have interacted directly with the automated platform.
- The company surpassed $200 million in annual recurring revenue in June, marking its fifth consecutive year of doubling annual revenue.
Industry data underscores the mounting economic pressures facing both sectors. Multifamily operating costs have climbed sharply in recent years, driven largely by skyrocketing insurance expenses that landlords frequently absorb rather than fully transferring to tenants. Meanwhile, healthcare accessibility remains hindered by high administrative overhead, with millions of American adults carrying medical debt. Song emphasizes that achieving genuine affordability in housing and healthcare requires lowering the fundamental cost of delivering those services, an objective where artificial intelligence can drive measurable efficiency.
Expanding Capabilities Through Advanced AI Agents
To deepen its operational footprint, EliseAI recently launched Apollo, a unified AI agent designed to execute cross-platform tasks rather than isolated functions. According to company leadership, Apollo represents a shift in enterprise software from reactive navigation to proactive execution. The system evaluates operational requirements and performs authorized tasks autonomously while maintaining strict human-in-the-loop safeguards. High-stakes decisions—such as formal lease approvals, legally binding notices, or sensitive fair housing communications—remain strictly under human oversight.
The firm is applying a similar operational playbook to its healthcare division, which caters to specialty physician groups by automating the entire patient journey. From inbound referral calls and appointment scheduling to insurance verification and chart preparation, the system processes massive call volumes. Song highlighted that the organization handles roughly five million voice calls monthly across its combined housing and healthcare operations, utilizing advanced voice capabilities tested in close collaboration with OpenAI.
Sameer Dholakia, a partner at Bessemer Venture Partners who is joining the EliseAI board of directors, praised the company for combining advanced technical research with a practical understanding of property operations. While the company continues to scale rapidly, leadership remains focused on expanding core business capabilities rather than pursuing a specific timeline for an initial public offering.
